New Delhi: The Ministry of Power is set to present a spectacular tableau titled “Prakash Ganga: Powering an Aatmanirbhar and Viksit Bharat” at the Republic Day Parade on January 26, 2026. The display will highlight India’s transformative journey in the power sector, its leadership in clean energy, and its commitment to building a self-reliant and developed nation.

“Prakash Ganga” – A Symbol of India’s Energy Journey

The theme Prakash Ganga, meaning “River of Light,” represents the seamless and continuous flow of electricity across India’s interconnected national grid. The tableau showcases India’s remarkable evolution from achieving universal electricity access to emerging as a global clean energy leader, reflecting the government’s vision of a self-sufficient and developed India.

Key Features of the Tableau

The tableau is designed to present a holistic picture of India’s power sector transformation:

Robotic Smart Meter and Wind Turbines: Symbolizing the integration of digital technologies, automation, and smart solutions for efficient power management.

“Smart Power, Smarter Home” Concept: The central section depicts rooftop solar panels, highlighting the government’s vision of empowering citizens as ‘prosumers’ – both producers and consumers of electricity.

Transmission Structure & EV Charging Station: A towering transmission structure represents last-mile connectivity, while an EV charging station and electric scooter demonstrate the power sector’s role in enabling clean mobility and a sustainable transport ecosystem.

Renewable Energy Showcase: The rear segment features hydroelectric, wind, and geothermal power installations, emphasizing India’s growing renewable energy capacity.

“Switching on India” Structure: Represents advanced control and monitoring centers ensuring grid stability and uninterrupted electricity supply.

Coiled Electrical Cable Structure: The tableau is mounted on a structure resembling coiled cables, symbolizing the scale, resilience, and reach of India’s national power grid, connecting millions of households and industries.

Driving the Vision of a Developed India

Through this presentation, the Ministry of Power underscores its commitment to providing reliable, affordable, and sustainable electricity. The tableau reflects the government’s efforts to:

  • Promote economic growth
  • Strengthen energy security
  • Facilitate clean and sustainable transport
