New Delhi: The Ministry of Steel will conduct an Open House on July 9, 2026, in New Delhi to address issues related to the import of steel. The session will be held at the Steel Room, 3rd Floor, GPOA-3, Netaji Nagar, New Delhi. The initiative aims to provide a structured platform for companies and industry associations to raise concerns and seek clarifications regarding steel import-related matters.

Purpose of the Open House Meeting

The Open House has been organized to discuss key issues related to steel imports, including regulatory and procedural matters. Companies and associations from sectors such as auto, aerospace, telecom, and defence can present their concerns directly during the session.

The Ministry aims to resolve industry issues related to import procedures and improve clarity on existing compliance systems.

Participants may raise issues specifically related to:

  • SIMS (Steel Import Monitoring System)

Companies are advised to clearly mention relevant application references, if any, while submitting their requests for participation.

Participation Guidelines and Registration Process

Interested companies and associations must send an email to tech-steel[at]nic[dot]in to secure a confirmed time slot for participation.

The email must include the following details:

  • Name of the company or association
  • Type of industry and product (e.g., auto, aerospace, telecom, defence, etc.)
  • Issue category (SIMS / SARAL SIMS / QCO exemption)
  • Reference number of SIMS/SARAL SIMS/QCO exemption application (if applicable)
  • Brief description of the issue (maximum 50 words)
  • Name and designation of participant (third-party representation not allowed)
  • Contact details including mobile number and email ID

Important Instructions for Participants

The Open House will be conducted between 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM, with specific time slots allotted via email confirmation.

Key instructions include:

  • Walk-ins will not be permitted due to logistical constraints
  • Only one representative per organisation will be allowed
  • Participation will be confirmed in advance through email scheduling
  • Requests must be sent by July 6, 2026, 4:00 PM to ensure a confirmed slot

Objective of the Initiative

The Ministry of Steel’s Open House is aimed at improving communication between the government and industry stakeholders. By addressing import-related challenges and regulatory concerns directly, the initiative seeks to enhance transparency, streamline compliance processes, and support smoother trade operations in the steel sector.
