The state government of Mizoram appointed retired Indian Police Service (IPS) officer John Neihlaia as the State Chief Information Commissioner in the Mizoram State Information Commission today. After over 36 years of service, he retired from service in July this year. He joined Mizoram Police as Deputy SP in 1986 and served the police force in various capacities in Mizoram, Delhi, and Arunachal Pradesh. John Neihlaia was decorated with the Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 2019 and DGP’s Commendation Disc in the same year.

On the other hand, retired Indian Information Service (IIS) officer Mangjangam Touthang was posted as State Information Commissioner in the Mizoram State Information Commission. He has rendered his service in various media units under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India. He was posted in various capacities in Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Delhi. He has also served in the erstwhile DAVP, PIB, DFP, AIR and Doordarshan and retired as Director (News) from DDK, Aizawl in February this year.
