Bhopal/New Delhi: In a strategic move to bolster infrastructure, media presence, and renewable energy initiatives in Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav met with key Union Ministers in New Delhi on Tuesday and secured vital commitments for the state’s development.
Akashvani Kendra to Open in Ujjain Before Simhastha 2028
In a major cultural and media boost for Ujjain, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav confirmed that an Akashvani Kendra (All India Radio station) will soon be established in the holy city. This move is being seen as part of preparations for Simhastha 2028, one of the country’s largest religious congregations.
During a meeting with Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Dr. L. Murugan, the CM received an in-principle nod to begin work on the Kendra. Until the studio is ready, efforts will be made to broadcast Ujjain programs via the Akashvani Indore station.
₹1,800 Cr Rail Coach Plant to be Set Up in Raisen
Dr. Yadav also announced that BEML Limited, a PSU under the Ministry of Defence, will soon lay the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art rail coach manufacturing facility in Raisen district. The investment is pegged at ₹1,800 crore, with land allocation of 60 hectares already completed by the state.
The plant, being developed with coordination between the Madhya Pradesh Government, Railway Ministry, and Defence Ministry, will generate employment for approximately 1,500 people. The CM has formally invited Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to preside over the foundation stone laying ceremony.
Major Push in Renewable Energy: Solar for 32 Lakh Farmers
In alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s clean energy vision, CM Yadav also met Union Minister for Renewable Energy Prahlad Joshi and discussed Madhya Pradesh’s comprehensive renewable energy roadmap.
The state is actively working on solar, wind, and pump storage solutions, with upcoming solar parks of 4,200 MW capacity and a bilateral energy-sharing plan with Uttar Pradesh involving 2,000 MW of solar power.
A standout initiative includes installing solar panels for 32 lakh farmers, which will allow them to generate their own electricity, drastically reducing the state’s ₹18,000 crore subsidy burden. The state is also implementing the PM-KUSUM Yojana in all three categories – A, B, and C – further advancing self-reliant agricultural energy usage.
CM Yadav’s Delhi Mission Focused on Ground-Level Impact
Dr. Yadav’s engagements with Union ministers reflect a focused strategy to position Madhya Pradesh as a model state in sustainable energy, employment generation, and cultural broadcasting. These multi-sectoral projects are expected to deliver long-term benefits across agriculture, industry, and public information services.
