Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Tuesday, approved a total of ₹33,240 crore for the continuation of key welfare and development programs across seven departments over the next five years. The Cabinet also gave its nod to the launch of the Chief Minister Young Interns for Good Governance Program and the creation of several new posts in judiciary, health, and administrative sectors.
Young Interns Program and Administrative Strengthening
The Cabinet approved approximately ₹190 crore for the Chief Minister Young Interns for Good Governance Program for three years. The initiative will be implemented under the direction of the Public Service Management Department, which will issue rules and guidelines for smooth execution.
Additionally, seven new posts, including a Junior Judicial Officer in Chitrangi, Singrauli, were sanctioned to strengthen administrative capabilities. In the health sector, 51 new posts for doctors and paramedical staff were approved, along with the establishment of three new Employee State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) dispensaries in Maihar (Satna district), Kamore (Katni district), and Nimrani (Khargone district). These facilities will provide better healthcare access to 15,686 registered workers and their 62,744 dependents.

Support for Disabled Individuals and Social Welfare
The Cabinet extended the exemption of disabled persons under the Madhya Pradesh Professional Tax Act, 1995, until March 31, 2030. This step aims to provide continued financial relief and social support for the differently-abled community in the state.
Under the One District-One Product scheme, financial assistance worth ₹37.50 crore was approved for the next five years to preserve, develop, and market traditional and unique products in seven districts. Key focus areas include:
- Sihodi: Carpets and rugs
- Datia: Jaggery production
- Ashoknagar: Chanderi handloom
- Bhopal: Zari-Zardozi and jute products
- Dhar: Bag printing
- Sehore: Wooden toys
- Ujjain: Batik printing
The program will provide local artisans and weavers with training, branding, digitalization, and market access, boosting rural entrepreneurship and employment.
Energy and Infrastructure Initiatives
The Cabinet approved the allocation of ₹887.91 crore as equity to state distribution companies under the revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS). The initiative, supported by the Ministry of Power, Government of India, aims to modernize distribution infrastructure, reduce losses, and improve the quality and reliability of electricity supply.
Additionally, the Mineral Resources Department will continue its Mineral Cess Fund Utilization Scheme from 2026-27 to 2030-31 with an allocation of ₹6,090.12 crore. The funds will be used for rural infrastructure, drinking water projects, and road development in mining and backward areas.
Panchayati Raj, Tribal Welfare, and Women & Child Development
The Cabinet approved ₹7,127.38 crore for the continuity of Panchayati Raj and Rural Development programs until March 31, 2031. This includes maintenance of departmental assets and funding for institutes such as the Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Rural Development, Jabalpur.
Tribal Welfare Department programs, including post-matric scholarships and infrastructure development in Scheduled Tribe areas, were approved with a total allocation of ₹1,645 crore. Key provisions include ₹610.51 crore for scholarships to students in Class 11, 12, and college, and ₹948.23 crore for basic amenities, education, and livelihood support in tribal areas.
The Cabinet also sanctioned ₹3,773 crore for the continuation of women and child development programs, including support for the State Commission for Women, the Child Rights Protection Commission, and Madhya Pradesh Women Finance Development Corporation initiatives.
MSME and Startup Sector Support
To boost entrepreneurship, the Cabinet approved ₹11,361 crore for the next five years under MSME promotion, business facilitation, and startup policies. This includes ₹10,041 crore for industrial development, quality certification, energy audits, export assistance, revival of sick units, and sector-specific packages.
Under the Madhya Pradesh Startup Policy and Implementation Plan 2022, ₹589 crore will be allocated for financial and patent support, participation in events, and loans, while ₹742 crore will fund the establishment of industry directorates and district-level industrial centers.
