Chhatarpur: In a significant move to promote investment and generate employment, the Cabinet Committee on Investment Promotion in Madhya Pradesh has approved investment proposals for five industrial units and taken key decisions regarding financial incentives for proposed industrial projects across the state.
The meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav in the world-famous city of Khajuraho, witnessed detailed discussions on major industrial projects that have the potential to accelerate economic growth and create substantial employment opportunities.
JK Cement Expands Operations in Panna District
Among the projects discussed, JK Cement Company’s investment proposal received attention. The company is currently operating an integrated clinker and cement production project worth ₹2,600 crore in Panna district, providing employment to over 6,000 people.
The company plans an additional investment of ₹1,850 crore to expand the unit, which is expected to create approximately 800 new jobs, further strengthening its contribution to the local economy.
Alkem Laboratories to Invest in Pharma Manufacturing in Ujjain
The committee also considered the proposal of Alkem Laboratories, a leading player in the pharmaceutical sector engaged in formulation-API and bulk drug production.
Following the interest expressed during a roadshow in Mumbai, Alkem Laboratories intends to invest over ₹500 crore to establish a manufacturing unit at Vikram Udyogpuri, Ujjain for the production of tablets, capsules, dry syrups, and dry powder injections. This project is expected to generate employment for around 500 people.
Digital Infrastructure and Data Center Investment in Bhopal
In line with efforts to strengthen digital infrastructure, Control S Data Center Limited plans to develop a data center facility at Barwai IT Park, Bhopal, with an investment of approximately ₹500.20 crore.
The project is expected to create about 870 direct and indirect employment opportunities and will support Madhya Pradesh’s goals under Digital India, Make in India, National Data Policy, and the MP IT & ESDM Investment Promotion Policy-2023.
Electronics Manufacturing Expansion in Gwalior
To promote electronics manufacturing and the ESDM sector, Kedara Electronics has proposed the establishment of a copper-clad laminate manufacturing unit in Gwalior, with an investment of ₹327.10 crore. This initiative is expected to generate around 220 direct and indirect jobs, boosting the state’s local production capabilities.
Iskon Balaji Foods Commences Potato Flakes Production in Ujjain
Iskon Balaji Foods, one of the world’s largest potato flakes manufacturers based in Ahmedabad, has already started operations in Vikram Udyogpuri, Ujjain, with an investment of ₹110 crore. The project has created employment for approximately 350 people, contributing to industrial growth and local job creation.
Policy Support to Encourage Industrial Growth
The Cabinet Committee granted in-principle approval to all proposed and operating projects to promote industrial development. The decision includes financial incentives and additional support under existing industry promotion frameworks, ensuring a conducive environment for industrial expansion.
Officials stated that the move will not only accelerate industrial progress in Madhya Pradesh but also create large-scale employment opportunities for youth across the state, contributing to sustainable economic development.
