Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav Flags Off 10 New Safari Canter Buses to Boost Tourism at Panna National Park

Panna, Madhya Pradesh: Visiting Panna National Park has become more convenient for tourists with the launch of 10 new 19-seater canter buses, inaugurated by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Monday. The new buses are designed to provide visitors direct access to the safari experience even without prior online booking, ensuring a smoother and more enjoyable wildlife adventure.

Improved Safari Experience

The buses, provided by the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (MPTDC), are taller and longer than standard safari vehicles, giving tourists a better view of the park and its wildlife. Each bus can accommodate 19 passengers, offering ample legroom and comfortable seating, making the safari experience safe and pleasant, particularly for children and senior citizens.

Officials highlighted that the new buses are specially designed to navigate the rough terrain of the park while ensuring passenger comfort and safety. The elevated seating allows visitors to spot wildlife more clearly, enhancing the overall safari experience.

Reducing Dependence on Online Booking

Previously, tourists often missed out on safari trips during peak season because online slots filled up quickly, leaving many disappointed upon reaching the park. With the new canter buses, visitors can now book safari rides directly at the park entrance, eliminating the need for prior online reservations. This initiative is expected to increase tourist participation and make the safari experience more accessible to all.

Affordable and Expanding Services

The ticket price for each safari ride in the new buses ranges from ₹1,150 to ₹1,450 per person per round, which can be cost-effective for families or larger groups compared to standard jeep safaris.

While the initiative starts with Panna National Park, the plan is to deploy these buses at other major tiger reserves and wildlife tourism destinations across Madhya Pradesh, including Bandhavgarh, Kanha, Pench, and Parsili (Sidhi). The state government aims to provide world-class facilities at every significant wildlife tourism site in the region.

Boosting Wildlife Tourism in Madhya Pradesh

This move is part of Madhya Pradesh’s ongoing efforts to promote wildlife tourism, improve visitor convenience, and ensure sustainable growth in the sector. With the introduction of these buses, the state is set to offer a safer, more comfortable, and memorable safari experience to domestic and international tourists alike.
