Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, accompanied by Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, visited flood-affected areas in Guna district and assured citizens that the state government will provide compensation for losses caused by excessive rainfall and flooding. He emphasized that no affected family will be left behind, and that compensation will be delivered through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system after proper on-ground surveys.
Relief and Rehabilitation in Full Swing
The Chief Minister conducted on-site inspections in Cantt Area, Patel Nagar, and Pawan Colony on New Tekri Road, personally interacting with residents and reviewing the ongoing relief efforts. During his visit, he stated that the district witnessed the highest rainfall in 32 years, creating an unprecedented situation.
Despite the challenges, prompt coordination by the administration and NDRF’s timely intervention led to successful rescue operations. Over 170 citizens, including senior citizens, were safely evacuated from Guna’s New City Colony.

Relief Operations Mobilized
A 70-member NDRF team has been working on rescue and relief operations in coordination with district authorities and social organizations. Key relief measures included:
- Distribution of food packets
- Setup of temporary shelters
- Supply of essential materials to flood victims
Dr. Yadav acknowledged the quick mobilization of administrative teams, calling their coordination “commendable under crisis.”
Call for Vigilance Amid Forecast of More Rain
CM Yadav warned that more rainfall is expected in the coming days and directed the administration to remain on high alert. He also urged public representatives to remain close to the people and ensure their needs are met without delay.
“It is the duty of every public servant and elected representative to stand beside citizens during such testing times,” said Dr. Yadav.

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, who accompanied the Chief Minister, monitored the relief operations and expressed satisfaction with the speed and coordination of rescue activities. He has been in continuous contact with administrative officials, ensuring that the central government stays informed and supportive.

During the visit, several local women tied Rakhi to the Chief Minister, warmly welcoming him amid emotional scenes. Dr. Yadav expressed heartfelt gratitude for the affection and reiterated the government’s commitment to stand by every citizen “as a brother, especially in their time of need.”
