Bhopal: At the 29th Foundation Day celebration of the Centre for Research and Industrial Staff Performance (CRISP), Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel urged the institution to tailor its training programs based on the employment demands of local industries. Speaking at the event held at Kushabhau Thakre Auditorium, he emphasized aligning skill development with regional needs to ensure that youth can find employment close to home.
He also presented certificates to women trained under the Saksham Yojana and beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana, and praised the quality of work showcased by trainees at the exhibition.
India on the Path to Becoming a Skilled Superpower
Highlighting India’s growth under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Governor said the country is advancing with the vision of a “Skilled and Self-Reliant India.” He noted that India now boasts the third-largest startup ecosystem globally, with a growing emphasis on skill and entrepreneurship.
Patel proposed the “Four-Lane Model” for boosting employment, which includes:
- Decentralization
- Swadeshi (Indigenous Manufacturing)
- Entrepreneurship
- Cooperative Economy
He also pointed out that agriculture remains the largest employment sector, with 35% of youth dependent on it, and that over 11 crore Indians are engaged in micro, small, and cottage industries.
CM Mohan Yadav Announces CRISP Expansion to Divisional Level
In a video address, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announced the expansion of CRISP centers to the divisional level, with the first new center opening in Ujjain. This initiative, he said, would meet the growing demand for skilled workers as the state continues to attract investment and industrial development.
Dr. Yadav also highlighted that PM Modi will be visiting Badnawar (Dhar district) on August 25 to lay the foundation of the PM MITRA Park, which is expected to create high demand for skilled manpower in the textile and apparel sectors.
Minister Parmar Calls CRISP a Prestigious Institution
Inder Singh Parmar, Minister for Higher Education, AYUSH, and Technical Education, called CRISP a “prestigious center” for skill development. He encouraged the institute to update its curriculum regularly to meet evolving industry demands and technological advancements.
Partnerships with Universities to Enhance Training
As part of the event, CRISP signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with:
- Barkatullah University, Bhopal
- Tantya Bhil University, Khargone
- Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore
These collaborations aim to boost academic integration, research, and industrial training across the state.
CRISP’s Journey: Two Decades of Impact
Founded in 1997 through an Indo-German technical cooperation, CRISP has grown into one of Madhya Pradesh’s leading institutions for technical education and skill development. Over 28 years, it has:
- Trained over 1.5 lakh students
- Built capacity in 1,500 trainers
- Trained 10,000+ government officers and staff
The organization operates under the Department of Technical Education and Skill Development, Government of Madhya Pradesh.

During the ceremony, CRISP’s Managing Director Dr. Kant Patil provided a detailed overview of the institute’s achievements and future goals.
