Promoting Preventive Healthcare and Women’s Health Awareness

The vaccination programme focused on Human Papillomavirus (HPV) immunisation, aiming to promote preventive healthcare and raise awareness about women’s health among employees. The drive was inaugurated by Director (HR) Alok Kumar Pal at the head office dispensary in Bhubaneswar. Women employees at the head office and Khondalite units received the HPV vaccine as part of the initiative.

Outreach Across Mining Regions

To ensure wider coverage, OMC conducted the vaccination programme across its medical facilities in Barbil, Gandhamardan, Daitari, JK Road, Rayagada, and Koira mining regions. OMC’s medical teams and health workers not only administered the vaccines but also held awareness sessions on cervical cancer prevention, early screening, and regular health check-ups.

Focus on Employee Welfare and Women’s Empowerment

The vaccination drive is part of OMC’s broader focus on employee welfare and preventive healthcare across operational areas. In the lead-up to International Women’s Day, the company also conducted multiple Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH) awareness sessions across its regions to foster a safe and inclusive workplace.

Aligned with the United Nations theme “For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment”, OMC hosted a cultural programme at its head office celebrating the contributions and achievements of women professionals in the mining sector.
