Ujjain: On the occasion of India’s 77th Republic Day, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav hoisted the national flag at the Kartik Mela Ground in Ujjain during a state-level celebration. Addressing the gathering, he highlighted the spirit of patriotism and national pride among citizens. The event included a parade salute and colorful tableaux presented by various government departments.
Tribute to Freedom Fighters and Constitutional Values
CM Dr. Yadav paid homage to martyrs who sacrificed their lives for India’s independence and expressed respect for the principles of the Constitution. He said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India’s global prestige is steadily increasing. The Republic Day event was also linked to the upcoming 2028 Simhastha festival in Ujjain, reflecting cultural and religious significance.
Farmer Welfare and Multi-Purpose Development Initiatives
Dr. Yadav emphasized the government’s commitment to the motto “Prosperous Farmers, Prosperous State.” Madhya Pradesh has initiated 10 multi-purpose activities for farmer welfare, increasing the agriculture budget from ₹600 crore in 2002-03 to over ₹27,050 crore in 2024-25. The year 2026 has been declared as “Farmer Welfare Year” to strengthen agriculture and rural livelihoods.
Industrial Growth and Global Engagement
The Chief Minister highlighted reforms under the Jan Vishwas Act 2024-25 to simplify laws and boost industrial development. Madhya Pradesh hosted Global Investors Summit proposals, with one-third already implemented. International collaborations with entrepreneurs from the UK, Germany, Japan, Spain, and Dubai have opened opportunities for investment and employment. The state’s industrial policy provided over ₹1,522 crore in support during 2025-26, including the foundation of the PM Mitra Park in Dhar.
Youth Empowerment and Education Initiatives
Dr. Yadav highlighted scholarships worth ₹1,250 crore awarded to over 50 lakh students in the past two years. Tribal students in classes 11 and 12 benefit from scholarship programs, and 21 students from backward classes have been employed abroad. Coding labs and 10 incubation centers have been set up in government polytechnic and engineering colleges, with plans to expand across the state.
Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Development
The Chief Minister noted that Madhya Pradesh is now self-reliant in electricity, providing 24-hour power to non-agricultural consumers and 10 hours to agricultural users. Renewable energy capacity has grown from 491 MW in 2012 to 9,508 MW in 2024. The state is also converting 30 lakh electric pumps to solar pumps, and the first energy storage project in Morena has received praise from the World Bank.
Health, Water, and Environmental Achievements
Madhya Pradesh has 19 government and 14 private medical colleges, with plans to establish six new government medical colleges by 2028. Clean air surveys recognized Jabalpur, Dewas, and Indore for excellence. Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, over 81 lakh rural households now have tap water connections. Significant progress has been made in forest and wildlife conservation, with the declaration of the ninth tiger reserve in Shivpuri.
Women Empowerment and Social Welfare Programs
The state government provides monthly financial assistance to over 1.25 crore women under schemes like Laadli Bahna and Laadli Lakshmi. Under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, around 3 lakh women have benefitted. Social security initiatives also support over 54 lakh elderly, disabled, and destitute women with pensions.
Sports, Space Technology, and Future Vision
Madhya Pradesh is emerging as a hub for sports and space technology. Over the last two years, state athletes have won numerous national and international medals. A sports complex worth nearly ₹1,000 crore is under construction in Bhopal, and the state has launched a Space Tech Policy to strengthen India’s position in the space economy.
Developed Madhya Pradesh Vision for 2047
Dr. Yadav highlighted that state revenue grew by over 8% in 2024-25, reflecting strong financial planning. The “Developed Madhya Pradesh@2047” vision aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Developed India@2047” initiative. The Chief Minister called for collective efforts from citizens to contribute to the state’s progress and national pride.
