Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced a ₹5 crore development package for Shujalpur during the centenary celebrations of the Shujalpur Nagar Palika Parishad, marking 100 years of civic service and public welfare. The announcement aims to strengthen municipal infrastructure and support the town’s long-term development.
Speaking virtually from the Ministry during the centenary event, the Chief Minister described the occasion as a celebration of Shujalpur’s heritage, achievements, and the collective spirit of its citizens.
₹5 Crore Allocation for Municipal Development
Under the announced package, ₹3 crore has been allocated for the construction of a new building for the Shujalpur Nagar Palika Parishad, which will enhance administrative efficiency and improve civic services.
The remaining ₹2 crore will be used for various infrastructure projects, including road construction and other development works within the municipality. The initiative is expected to improve urban infrastructure and support the town’s growing civic needs.
CM Yadav emphasized the importance of the centenary year, stating that it represents a significant milestone for the local administration and the people of Shujalpur.
“It is a festival of our heritage, achievements and collective resolve. Due to the immense grace of Jatashankar Mahadev, Shujalpur Nagar Palika has completed 100 years of public service and public welfare,” he said.
Holi Greetings and Government Welfare Measures
On the previous day, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav also extended Holi greetings to the people of Madhya Pradesh and the country, highlighting several government initiatives aimed at supporting farmers and employees.
He noted that the state government has taken steps such as forming the Kisan Cabinet and increasing the dearness allowance (DA) of officers, employees, and pensioners by 3 per cent.
“Best wishes of Holi to the people of the state and the country. Through the Kisan Cabinet, our government has given farmers the opportunity to celebrate Holi in all its glory,” the Chief Minister said.
He added that the increase in dearness allowance reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring fairness and support for all sections of society.
2026 Declared as Krishak Kalyan Varsh
The Madhya Pradesh government has declared 2026 as ‘Krishak Kalyan Varsh’ (Farmers’ Welfare Year), with several initiatives planned to strengthen the agricultural sector.
Recently, the first agriculture cabinet meeting was held in the tribal-dominated district of Barwani, where development projects worth ₹27,746 crore were approved for the benefit of farmers. The state cabinet has also emphasized continuing key agricultural support schemes over the next five years to ensure long-term growth in the sector.

The announcements reflect the Madhya Pradesh government’s broader focus on infrastructure development, farmer welfare, and employee benefits. With initiatives such as municipal development funding, farmer-focused policies, and welfare measures, the state aims to promote balanced growth across both urban and rural areas.
