Jawra (Ratlam): In a major step aimed at strengthening farmer welfare, the Madhya Pradesh government on Sunday transferred ₹810 crore directly into the bank accounts of more than 3.77 lakh soybean farmers under the Bhavantar Payment Scheme. Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav released the amount through a single-click transfer during the state-level Soybean Bhavantar Scheme Conference held at Jawra in Ratlam district.
The programme, organised at the Government Bhagat Singh College campus, witnessed a warm reception for the Chief Minister by BJP workers and farmers from across the region.
Bhavantar Scheme Reflects Government’s Commitment to Farmers
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Dr Yadav said the Bhavantar scheme is not merely a financial support programme but a symbol of the government’s respect, responsibility and commitment towards farmers. He described the payment as the rightful entitlement of farmers and reiterated the state government’s resolve to ensure their prosperity.
The Chief Minister announced that the year 2026 would be dedicated to the welfare of farmers, with plans to organise large-scale agricultural festivals. He added that modern farming practices, new technologies and agricultural extension services would be taken to villages to help farmers make timely and informed decisions.
₹1,300 Crore Paid to Over 6.25 Lakh Farmers So Far
Dr Yadav informed that with the latest disbursement, the state government has so far paid nearly ₹1,300 crore as Bhavantar assistance to more than 6.25 lakh soybean farmers. Out of this, farmers from Ratlam district alone received ₹20.74 crore, benefitting 12,386 soybean growers through direct transfers.
Solar Pumps to Reduce Farming Costs
In another major announcement, the Chief Minister said more than 32 lakh farmers in the state would be provided solar pumps with up to 90 per cent subsidy on the total cost. This initiative is expected to free farmers from electricity bills and significantly reduce input costs, making agriculture more sustainable and affordable.
Development Projects Worth ₹145 Crore for Jawra
The Chief Minister also announced development works worth ₹145.55 crore for the Jawra region. This includes the inauguration of 12 projects costing over ₹18 crore and foundation-laying ceremonies for 21 projects valued at more than ₹127 crore. These initiatives aim to improve civic amenities and strengthen infrastructure in Ratlam district.
New Stadium, One Stop Centre and Hostels Announced
Dr Yadav declared financial assistance of ₹2 crore each for the construction of a modern outdoor and indoor stadium in Jawra, a One Stop Centre for destitute women, a heritage building, and renovation of an old school. He also announced the construction of girls’ hostels in villages Shujapur and Piploda to support education in rural areas.
River Linking Project to Expand Irrigation Coverage
Highlighting long-term agricultural benefits, the Chief Minister said the Parvati–Kalisindh–Chambal National River Linking Project would increase the state’s irrigated area from 56 lakh hectares to nearly 100 lakh hectares. The project is expected to benefit the Malwa and Chambal regions, including Ratlam district.
Unveiling of Statue of Former MP
During his visit, Dr Yadav unveiled the statue of former Member of Parliament Dr Laxmi Narayan Pandey at village Shujapur. He praised Dr Pandey for rising from grassroots politics and setting an example of value-based leadership, calling upon people to follow his ideals.
Senior Leaders Attend Farmers’ Conference
The conference was attended by Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar, Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda, Agriculture Minister Aendal Singh Kansana, BJP state president Hemant Khandelwal, MP Sudhir Gupta, along with several public representatives and a large number of farmers from across the state.
