Bhopal: Fifteen officials from the 1997 and 1998 batches of the Madhya Pradesh State Police Service (SPS) are eagerly awaiting the decision of the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) regarding their elevation to the Indian Police Service (IPS). Of the 15 officers under consideration, it is expected that five will be selected for promotion.
Names Forwarded to Higher Authorities
The list of officials was initially forwarded by the Police Headquarters (PHQ) to the state Home Department in Bhopal. Subsequently, their names were sent to the Union Home Ministry and the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for further approval. During this process, the Centre raised a query concerning one of the officers, Amrit Meena, which has since been addressed satisfactorily. The final date for the DPC meeting to finalize the promotions is now awaited.

Details of Officers Under Consideration
The 15 SPS officers include three from the 1997 batch: Sitaram Sasatya, Amrit Meena, and Vikrant Murab. The remaining 12 officials belong to the 1998 batch: Surendra Kumar Jain, Ashish Khare, Rajesh Raghuvanshi, Nimisha Pande, Rajesh Kumar Mishra, Malay Jain, Amit Saxema, Maneesha Pathak, Suman Gurjar, Sandeep Mishra, Savyasachi Saraf, and Satyendra Singh Tomar. Of the 1998 batch, approximately three to four officers are anticipated to be promoted.
