Bhopal: Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Mohan Yadav, emphasized the urgent need to accelerate the process of granting tourism industry status in the state, highlighting Madhya Pradesh’s rich natural beauty, heritage, and cultural diversity as a significant asset that can be further leveraged to drive economic growth.

Dr. Yadav stated that conferring industry status to tourism will allow the sector to benefit from the state’s industrial policies, encouraging private investments, creating new employment opportunities, and strengthening tourism infrastructure across the state. “Once tourism receives industry status, hotels, resorts, adventure tourism, travel services, and other tourism-related sectors will gain access to subsidies, tax incentives, and various other government support mechanisms. This will boost investor confidence and further enhance the state’s tourism ecosystem,” he said.

High-Level Review Meeting to Strengthen Tourism Development

The Chief Minister recently held a high-level meeting with senior officials of the Tourism Department to chart strategies for elevating Madhya Pradesh’s tourism sector. During the meeting, he directed officials to take swift and concrete measures to grant industry status to tourism and ensure that all related processes are simplified, transparent, and investor-friendly.

Dr. Yadav stressed that the government’s initiatives should make it easier for entrepreneurs and investors to participate in tourism development, ultimately positioning Madhya Pradesh as one of India’s leading tourism destinations.

Expected Impact on State Economy

The CM highlighted that recognizing tourism as an industry will not only enhance the state’s tourism activities but also strengthen Madhya Pradesh’s overall economy. Officials have been instructed to ensure that investors and stakeholders fully benefit from tourism development policies and incentive schemes, enabling faster project execution and sustainable growth in the sector.

Dr. Yadav concluded by underlining that this move would unlock new opportunities for investment, generate employment, and create a more robust tourism infrastructure, thereby showcasing Madhya Pradesh’s cultural richness and natural beauty to domestic and international tourists.
