Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has announced the launch of enhanced tourist facilities around world heritage site Khajuraho and Panna Tiger Reserve, emphasizing the state’s commitment to boosting tourism and providing top-class amenities. Speaking at an event in Khajuraho, the CM urged tourists to take full advantage of the new PM-SHRI Helicopter Tourist Service, as well as inter-state air services and air ambulance facilities now available for the region.
Record Growth in Tourism Numbers
In the past year alone, Madhya Pradesh welcomed over 13.41 crore tourists, marking a remarkable 526% increase in visitor numbers. The state’s connectivity has received a significant boost with the inauguration of the Vande Bharat Express from Varanasi to Khajuraho by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, directly linking Bundelkhand’s heritage sites with Kashi Vishwanath. Khajuraho has also been identified among 17 iconic cities in India, further elevating its profile as a global tourism destination.

Inauguration of Oberoi Rajgarh Palace Hotel
During his visit, CM Dr. Yadav inaugurated the luxurious Oberoi Rajgarh Palace Hotel, located on a sprawling 70-acre property. The hotel, designed to showcase Madhya Pradesh’s rich historical and architectural heritage, will provide world-class accommodation to tourists while generating employment opportunities for local residents. Arjun Oberoi, owner of the Oberoi Group, described the property as a gateway to the state’s cultural and tourism potential, highlighting that it will serve as a landmark destination for travelers.
Promoting Bundelkhand’s Heritage and Local Economy
CM Dr. Yadav highlighted Khajuraho’s spiritual and cultural significance, noting its historical legacy as the capital of Maharaja Chhatrasal. He emphasized that the state government is continuously working to develop Bundelkhand, ensuring that ancient architecture and local traditions are preserved while promoting tourism-driven economic growth. The Rajgarh Palace hotel is expected to contribute significantly to this vision, providing luxury facilities for visitors and employment opportunities for local communities.
