The Union government has recently appointed Mr. Mritunjay Pratap Singh to assume charge as the next Director (Operations) of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), a PSU under the Ministry of Railways. Mr. Singh, who is presently serving as the Principal Executive Director in RVNL, was recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Monday.
Mr. Singh made the cut for the post of Director (Operations) of RVNL from a list of 12 candidates who were interviewed by the PESB panel in its selection meeting held on September 9th. Out of 12 candidates, nine candidates were from RVNL Limited and one each from RITES Limited, DFCCIL and Indian Railways.
In his new role, Mr. Singh will be a member of the Board of Directors and report to the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) and will be in charge of works, Business Development in domestic and international markets along project execution. He will also be responsible for the preparation of project preparatory studies including financial, economic, social and environmental analysis, security for traffic guarantees etc.
