His appointment, announced via an official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), will be effective for a period of five years from the date he assumes charge, or until his superannuation or further orders — whichever occurs first.

Rajesh Kumar currently serves as Executive Director at Bridge and Roof Co. (India) Limited, a central public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Heavy Industries. With over two decades of experience in corporate finance, budgeting, and project management, Kumar has played a key role in streamlining financial operations and supporting infrastructure projects across India.

Significance of the Appointment

Kumar’s financial acumen is expected to bring stability and efficiency to NFDC’s operations as the organization embarks on modernizing its services and expanding its international footprint. With the Indian film industry undergoing a digital and structural transformation, the role of Director (Finance) is pivotal in managing public funds, driving project-based budgeting, and ensuring financial compliance.

His appointment aligns with the government’s strategy to professionalize public sector undertakings by placing seasoned executives in leadership positions, particularly in sectors like culture and media where fiscal management is becoming increasingly complex.
