NHAI Partners with Konkan Railway to Boost Integrated Rail-Road Infrastructure and Smart Mobility

New Delhi: In a significant move to strengthen India’s infrastructure ecosystem, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd (KRCL). The agreement aims to enhance collaboration on integrated rail-road infrastructure, multimodal connectivity, and the adoption of smart and sustainable infrastructure solutions.

The MoU was signed in the presence of NHAI Chairman Mr. Santosh Kumar Yadav, along with senior officials from both organizations. The partnership marks a strategic step towards coordinated planning and development of the nation’s transport networks.

Key Areas of Collaboration

Under this umbrella MoU, NHAI and KRCL will work together across multiple critical areas, including:

  • Integrated Rail-Road Infrastructure: Developing seamless connectivity solutions that optimize road and rail networks.
  • Multimodal Logistics and Connectivity: Facilitating efficient goods and passenger movement through combined road-rail solutions.
  • Tunnel and Bridge Projects: Providing technical expertise for complex engineering projects, including tunnels, bridges, and slope stabilization.
  • Land Monetization and Wayside Amenities: Exploring opportunities for asset monetization and development of traveler-centric facilities.
  • Smart Infrastructure Technologies: Adoption of advanced digital tools, IoT, and other smart technologies to enhance safety, operational efficiency, and sustainability.
