Corporate and Field-Level Activities Focus on Cleanliness, Hygiene, and Environmental Awareness
Faridabad, 31 May 2025 – NHPC Limited, a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Government of India, is actively celebrating ‘Swachhta Pakhwada 2025’ from 16th May to 31st May 2025 across its Corporate Office, Regional Offices, Projects, and Power Stations in line with the guidelines issued by the Government of India.
Leadership Participation and Community Engagement
A key event during the fortnight was held on 30th May 2025 at the NHPC Residential Colony, Faridabad, featuring a special plantation programme titled ‘Ek Pedh – Ma ke Naam’.
The event witnessed participation from senior NHPC leadership, including–
- R.K. Chaudhary, CMD, NHPC
- Uttam Lal, Director (Personnel)
- Sanjay Kumar Singh, Director (Projects)
- Suprakash Adhikari, Director (Technical)
Their presence underscored NHPC’s top-down commitment to sustainable practices and environmental stewardship.
Youth Involvement: Nukkad Natak by School Girls Highlights Cleanliness
A major highlight of the programme was a street play (Nukkad Natak) on cleanliness and hygiene awareness, performed by girl students from Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sarai, Faridabad. The performance captured the essence of ‘Swachhta’ and resonated deeply with the attendees, promoting community-driven sanitation awareness.
Nationwide Activities Promoting Swachhta Awareness
Throughout the Pakhwada, NHPC has been organizing a variety of activities across its locations nationwide, including-
- Cleanliness awareness drives
- Plantation campaigns
- Skit presentations
- Distribution of cleaning kits
- Hygiene and sanitation awareness sessions
- Drawing and painting competitions for school children
These initiatives are aligned with the Government’s larger ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’, reinforcing NHPC’s role as a responsible corporate citizen.
