NHPC’s Sanjay Kumar Singh Reviews Dibang Multipurpose Project, Emphasizes Timely Delivery

NHPC’s Director (Projects) reviews construction progress at the 2880 MW Dibang Multipurpose Project, urging accelerated execution and timely milestone delivery.

Itanagar – Sanjay Kumar Singh, Director (Projects), NHPC, undertook a detailed three-day site visit to the under-construction 2880 MW Dibang Multipurpose Project (DMPP) in Arunachal Pradesh from July 20 to 22, 2025. The visit underscored NHPC’s strong focus on timely delivery and execution of one of India’s most ambitious hydropower undertakings.

Comprehensive Inspection of Key Project Sites

During his visit, Shri Singh conducted a meticulous inspection of major structural and support components across the project site. These included the Dam Site, Diversion Tunnel, Cable cum Ventilation Tunnel (CCVT), Main Access Tunnel (MAT), and Adit, along with associated residential colony areas.

Each segment was closely reviewed for quality, pace of work, and integration with the overall project timeline. Shri Singh offered specific guidance to optimize construction workflows and boost operational efficiency across various fronts.

A high-level review meeting was convened as part of the visit, where the Executive Director and Head of Project (HoP), DMPP, presented a comprehensive update on progress made so far. Detailed insights were shared regarding milestone achievements, work schedules, and ongoing challenges at the site.

Director Lauds Dedication and Urges Milestone Focus

Sanjay Kumar Singh lauded the dedication, teamwork, and coordination among the project staff and engineering teams. He emphasized the importance of maintaining momentum to meet scheduled timelines and urged all personnel to strive for seamless milestone execution in the coming phases.

His visit served as a significant morale booster for the field teams working in the remote and challenging terrain of the Dibang valley.
