Senior IAS officer Mr Niranjan Arya is the new Chief Secretary of Rajasathan. The announcement regarding this came on Saturday night.
A veteran Dalit bureaucrat, Mr Arya’s elevation however surprised quite a few in Jaipur’s corridors of power. For, he has superseded not one but 10 officers who were eyeing this post. In the process, he successfully leap-frogged over 1985, 87 and 88 batch officers.
Mr Arya replaces Mr Rajiv Swaroop, who has retired as the state’s Chief Secretary.
Mr Arya’s scheduled tenure will continue till January 2022.
