New Delhi: NLC India Limited (NLCIL) organised a community walkathon as part of its ongoing Vigilance Awareness Campaign to promote integrity, transparency and anti-corruption awareness. The event brought together company employees, corporate stakeholders, school students, teachers and members of the community to encourage ethical conduct and collective responsibility.

The initiative aimed to spread awareness about the importance of honesty, accountability and transparent practices in professional and personal life. Several activities, including an integrity pledge, slogan and placard competition, and a digital signature wall, were organised as part of the campaign.

NLC India Walkathon Begins with Integrity Pledge

The programme began at the NLC India Hospital, where participants gathered before taking part in a ceremonial integrity pledge.

The pledge was administered in three languages by senior NLCIL officials, including:

  • Thiru Appakannu Govindarajan, IPoS, Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO).
  • Dr Suresh Chandra Suman, Director (Mines).
  • Thiru Samir Swarup, Director (HR).

Other senior executives and participants also joined the pledge, reaffirming their commitment to honesty, opposing corruption and following transparent practices.

Students and Employees Spread Anti-Corruption Awareness

Following the pledge, the walkathon proceeded through the main roads of the NLCIL township to spread the message of vigilance and public accountability among residents.

A slogan and placard competition was also organised alongside the rally. School students and other participants carried handmade placards displaying anti-corruption messages and slogans.

The activity highlighted the importance of ethical behaviour, honesty and moral responsibility while encouraging young participants to become active contributors to a transparent society.

Digital Signature Wall Reinforces Commitment to Integrity

The walkathon concluded at the Gandhi Statue in Main Bazaar, where NLCIL installed a digital signature wall as part of its Vigilance Awareness Campaign.

The interactive installation allowed participants from different age groups to digitally record their signatures as a public commitment to integrity. Employees, students and community members used the platform to reaffirm their resolve to uphold ethical standards and reject corruption.

The initiative provided an opportunity for the wider community to participate in the campaign and express its support for transparency and accountability.

NLCIL Promotes Collective Responsibility Against Corruption

Through the walkathon, NLC India sought to highlight that preventing corruption requires sustained efforts and shared responsibility across society. The participation of employees, students, teachers and local residents strengthened the campaign’s community outreach.

By combining public participation, student engagement and digital initiatives, NLCIL reinforced the importance of vigilance and ethical governance. The event formed part of the company’s broader efforts to encourage transparent practices and build a corruption-free society.
