Neyveli: The Valedictory function of the Vigilance Awareness Campaign 2025 organized by the Vigilance Department of NLC India Limited (NLCIL) was held today at the Lignite Hall, Neyveli. The campaign was observed from 27 October to 2 November 2025, following directives from the Central Vigilance Commission, on the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility.”
CMD Highlights Vigilance as Key to NLCIL’s Growth Vision
Thiru Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), NLCIL, presided over the function. In his presidential address, he paid rich tributes to Mr. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, India’s first Home Minister, in whose memory the campaign is conducted.
CMD Motupalli called upon all stakeholders to observe the spirit of vigilance throughout the year. He congratulated the Vigilance Department for conducting innovative programmes that achieved maximum outreach. Emphasizing NLCIL’s ambitious growth plans—tripling power generation capacity, increasing renewable energy output sevenfold in the next three years, and a CAPEX plan of ₹2.5 Lakh Crore—he underlined the crucial role of vigilance in ensuring transparency and accountability in all activities.
He also suggested the framing of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across departments and appreciated the Vigilance Department for emphasizing preventive vigilance to achieve organizational targets effectively.
Vigilance Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement
Thiru Appakannu Govindarajan, Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO), NLCIL, thanked the CMD for unwavering support and highlighted that the campaign reached maximum stakeholders across all units, outside projects, and joint ventures. He also appreciated school students for actively participating, making the campaign vibrant.
Dr. Suresh Chandra Suman, Director (Mines & P&P Addl. Charge), lauded the introduction of a Selfie Stand depicting Manuneedhi Cholan as a symbol of justice and integrity, emphasizing that it will inspire individuals to uphold these values. He also commended the CVO for initiatives taken in the national interest, reinforcing the campaign motto of “Shared Responsibility.”
Celebrating Participation and Creativity
During the event, prizes were awarded for competitions organized as part of the Vigilance Awareness Week 2025, including Rangoli, Placard, and Reels/Shorts competitions. Additionally, the “Vigilant Employee” awards were presented to deserving employees.
A special edition of “Neyveli Vigil,” the Vigilance Department’s newsletter, was released, and a short video summarizing all campaign activities was screened. The event concluded with a cultural program by school students of Neyveli, adding a vibrant end to the celebrations.
