New Delhi: NMDC Limited has announced a CSR contribution of Rs 8.33 crore to upgrade facilities at Ballari Medical College and Research Centre (formerly VIMS). The initiative strengthens the institution’s medical infrastructure, ensuring better access to advanced healthcare in the region.
Upgraded Facilities with Advanced Equipment
The CSR support has equipped the hospital with critical medical technology, including ICU ventilators, neonatal circuits, Bubble CPAP and pediatric BiPAP devices. High Flow Nasal Cannula machines, HD laparoscopes, ERCP scopes, and advanced laser systems have also been added.
Operating theatres have been modernised with new surgical tables and energy-efficient LED lights, enhancing both patient safety and operational efficiency.
Commitment to Regional Healthcare
Dr. T. Gangadhara Gouda, Director of VIMS, stated that the new equipment will significantly improve patient care and outcomes. NMDC CMD Amitava Mukherjee reaffirmed the company’s focus on strengthening healthcare facilities in the regions where it operates.
Long-Term Social Investments
Over the past two decades, NMDC has invested more than Rs 2,600 crore in healthcare, education, skill development, and infrastructure projects across Karnataka and Chhattisgarh. This sustained investment underscores the PSU’s commitment to community development and nation-building.
