NN Tripathi has been appointed as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on deputation for a period of five years. According to an order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on February 12, 2025, the competent authority has approved his appointment from the date of assuming charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Tripathi, a seasoned IPS officer of 2009 batch and West Bengal cadre, has previously served as the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Birbhum district and was also in charge of Nandigram, where he played a crucial role in maintaining law and order. His extensive experience in handling critical assignments is expected to contribute significantly to his new role in CISF.
