New Delhi: The Government of India has clarified that there is no single flag representing all Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Assam Rifles (AR). Each CAPF has its own distinct flag and celebrates its raising day individually, reflecting its unique identity, organizational pride, and operational specialization. This was stated by Minister of State for Home Affairs, Mr. Nityanand Rai, in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha today.
CAPF Flags and Distinct Identity
CAPF flags are a symbol of pride, heritage, and operational expertise of each force.
The government emphasized that these flags are not just ceremonial, but also reflect the role and specialization of internal security forces in maintaining national security.
Each CAPF celebrates its raising day separately, similar to how the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force observe their respective flags and founding days.

Welfare Measures for CAPF Personnel
When asked about the possibility of creating a Paramilitary/CAPF Flag Fund—similar to the Sena Flag Fund for defence forces—Mr. Nityanand Rai stated:
- The government recognizes the critical contribution of CAPFs and AR to national security.
- It accords high priority to the welfare needs of all personnel across CAPFs and AR.
Currently, there is no plan announced for a dedicated public donation fund for CAPFs, but welfare measures are being actively addressed.
