NPTI Launches 29th Foundation Training Program for 68 NEEPCO and NHPC Professionals to Strengthen India’s Power Sector

Three-Week Mandatory Program Focuses on Skill Development, Technical Competence, and Continuous Learning for Power Sector Workforce

New Delhi: The National Power Training Institute (NPTI) inaugurated the 29th batch of its Three-Week Mandatory Foundation Training Program (FP) on 17th November 2025, welcoming 68 participants from NEEPCO and NHPC. The program is designed to enhance foundational skills, develop professional competencies, and foster a culture of continuous learning within India’s power sector.

Inaugural Ceremony Highlights

The inauguration was graced by Hemant Jain, Director General, NPTI, who formally opened the program and emphasized the importance of continuous skill development for a resilient power workforce. Dr. S. Selvam, Principal Director (MBA), delivered an inspiring keynote address, setting a motivating tone for the participants’ learning journey.

Welcome addresses were delivered by Dr. Indu Maheshwari, Principal Director (Training), and Dr. Vatsala Sharma, Director (Training), who highlighted the objectives and significance of the program. Senior officials including Dr. Mahendra Singh (Deputy Director), Rahul Pandey (Deputy Director), Anurag Rai (Assistant Director), Sandeep Sharma, and Dr. Ritu Verma were also present to support and guide the participants.

Training Program Focus and Duration

The 29th batch of the Foundation Training Program runs from 17th November to 5th December 2025. The intensive three-week course is aimed at:

  • Strengthening foundational knowledge and skills for power sector professionals.
  • Enhancing managerial, technical, and operational competencies.
  • Promoting innovation, efficiency, and a continuous learning mindset across organizations.

Participants will engage in workshops, lectures, and hands-on exercises covering various aspects of power generation, operations, and management to prepare them for greater responsibilities in their respective organizations.
