New Delhi: NTPC Limited has announced the commercial operation of the first 50 megawatts (MW) of its 200 MW Dayapar Wind Energy Project Phase-II in Gujarat. Developed by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a step-down subsidiary of NTPC through NTPC Green Energy Limited, this milestone underscores the company’s commitment to expanding its renewable energy portfolio and supporting India’s clean energy transition.
50 MW Capacity Declared Commercially Operational
The 50 MW capacity from the Dayapar Wind Energy Project Phase-II has been declared commercially operational with effect from 00:00 hours on February 26, 2026. This marks the first phase of the project, with the remaining 150 MW expected to be commissioned in subsequent phases, subject to project execution timelines and regulatory approvals.
Strengthening NTPC’s Renewable Energy Portfolio
With this addition, the total installed capacity of the NTPC Group has reached 88,182 MW, while the commercial capacity now stands at 87,102 MW. At the subsidiary level, the NTPC Green Energy Limited Group’s commercial capacity has risen to 9,151.08 MW, with the total installed capacity reaching 9,201.08 MW following the Dayapar Phase-II addition.
This incremental capacity reflects NTPC’s strategic focus on scaling up renewable energy operations, enhancing sustainability, and supporting India’s goal of achieving a greener energy mix.
