NTPC Green Energy Commissions 14.43 MW Solar Capacity at Khavda-I, Total Renewable Capacity Reaches 8,827.68 MW

New Delhi: NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has announced the commercial operation of an additional 14.43 MW solar capacity at its Khavda-I Solar PV Project in Gujarat, further strengthening its renewable energy portfolio and advancing India’s clean energy goals.

Khavda-I Solar PV Project: Phase-II, Tranche-III

The newly operational 14.43 MW segment represents the eleventh portion of the 1,255 MW Khavda-I Solar PV Project, being developed under the CPSU Scheme Phase-II, Tranche-III. The project is executed by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of NGEL, and is a key component of the NTPC Group’s large-scale renewable energy strategy.

The commercial operation of this segment became effective from 00:00 hours on February 10, 2026, according to a regulatory filing submitted to stock exchanges in compliance with SEBI (LODR) Regulations, 2015.

Boosting Renewable Energy Capacity

Following this latest commissioning, NTPC Green Energy’s operational capacity has increased:

  • Before the addition: 8,813.25 MW
  • After the addition: 8,827.68 MW

This incremental growth reinforces NGEL’s position as one of India’s leading renewable energy producers and highlights the company’s steady progress in scaling up solar energy generation across the country.

NTPC Green Energy continues to expand solar and renewable energy assets in line with India’s national clean energy targets.
