Davos, Switzerland: NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Uttar Pradesh to develop renewable energy and green hydrogen projects in the state. The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2026 in Davos, Switzerland, reinforcing India’s commitment to a clean energy transition and sustainable growth initiatives.

MoU to Boost Renewable Energy and Green Hydrogen in Uttar Pradesh

The MoU focuses on providing renewable energy solutions to support the development of green hydrogen projects across Uttar Pradesh. The partnership aims to accelerate the adoption of sustainable energy technologies, strengthen India’s green energy ecosystem, and promote decarbonization in industrial and energy sectors.

  • DMR Panda, Executive Director, NTPC Green Energy Limited

The ceremony was attended by Hon’ble Minister of Finance & Parliamentary Affairs, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh, Mr. Suresh Kumar Khanna, along with senior officials from both NTPC/NGEL and the UP Government.

The agreement highlights the growing collaboration between state governments and central public sector enterprises to implement green energy and hydrogen solutions, aligning with India’s vision of net-zero carbon emissions and renewable energy expansion.

Strategic Significance of the MoU

The partnership between NTPC Green Energy and Uttar Pradesh is expected to:
