New Delhi: NTPC Limited, India’s largest power utility, announced on Thursday that its step-down subsidiary, NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd (NTPC RE), has commenced commercial supply of 300 MW from its 500 MW Bhadla Solar PV Project in Rajasthan, effective January 13, 2026. The move strengthens the company’s contribution to India’s renewable energy goals while further boosting the total installed and commercial capacity of the NTPC Group to 87,287 MW and 86,207 MW, respectively, according to a regulatory filing.
Phased Commercial Operation of Bhadla Solar Project
The Bhadla Solar PV Project, one of India’s largest solar power plants, is being developed by NTPC RE through its subsidiary NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL). The declaration of the commercial operation date (COD) for the first phase capacity of 300 MW marks a key milestone in the project’s phased implementation. The remaining 200 MW is expected to be commissioned in subsequent phases, further enhancing the renewable energy portfolio of NTPC.
