Talcher/New Delhi: NTPC Talcher Kaniha celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour, showcasing the spirit of unity and national pride through ceremonial events, cultural presentations, and employee felicitation programs.

Flag Hoisting Ceremony and Parade Display

The celebration commenced with Executive Director K. Narasimha Reddy hoisting the national flag, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. A well-coordinated parade featuring the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel, along with students from DAV School, Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV), and SSVM, added to the ceremonial grandeur. The symbolic release of tricolour balloons further enhanced the patriotic ambience of the day.

  • Manveeyata Puraskar (Humanitarian Awards)
  • Women Achiever Awards
  • Power Excel Awards
  • Health Champion Awards
  • Security Excellence Awards (for CISF personnel)

These awards underline NTPC Talcher Kaniha’s commitment to employee engagement, excellence, diversity, and holistic well-being.

Community Participation and Leadership Presence

The event witnessed the presence of senior leadership including Ch. Satya Rama Krishna, Chief General Manager (Operations & Maintenance), who also hoisted the national flag earlier in the day at the administrative building. K. Srivani, President of Tanvi Sangam, the ladies’ welfare association, also graced the occasion, reflecting the organisation’s focus on family and community welfare.

Other attendees included senior NTPC officials, members of the welfare bodies, union representatives, faculty members from local schools, enthusiastic employees, and CISF personnel.

The event also featured colourful cultural performances by school students and NTPC staff, promoting the diversity, unity, and rich heritage of India. Patriotic songs, dances, and skits were part of the day-long programme that fostered team spirit and national pride across all age groups.

In his address, ED K. Narasimha Reddy reaffirmed NTPC’s commitment to nation-building through clean, reliable energy production and sustainable practices. He lauded the collective efforts of the NTPC Talcher Kaniha family in contributing to India’s power sector while upholding values of discipline, dedication, and unity.
