The award was received by Mr. Harekrushna Dash, ED (Sustainability, Environment & Ash) and Mr. K Karthikeyan, AGM (Environment & Sustainability), recognizing NTPC’s outstanding efforts in water conservation and sustainable water management.

The Forward Faster Sustainability Awards celebrate organizations making significant contributions to sustainability and corporate responsibility, in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This recognition reaffirms NTPC’s commitment to integrating sustainable practices in its operations and contributing to global environmental goals.

NTPC is actively implementing the Reduce, Reuse & Recycle approach to optimize water use. With advanced wastewater treatment plants and 100% sweet water self-sufficiency at RGPPL, it has set new benchmarks in water conservation. Additionally, NTPC is involved in restoring local water bodies, improving community access to clean water, and raising conservation awareness.

As India’s largest integrated power utility, NTPC contributes one-fourth of the nation’s power supply, with an installed capacity of over 77 GW and 29.5 GW under construction, including 9.6 GW of renewable energy. The company aims to achieve 60 GW of renewable capacity by 2032.

Beyond power generation, NTPC is expanding into e-mobility, battery storage, pumped hydro, waste-to-energy, nuclear power, and green hydrogen solutions, reinforcing its vision for a sustainable and greener future.
