Mumbai: NTPC Limited – Western Region–I (WR–I) Headquarters, Mumbai, has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Gujarat Cancer & Research Institute (GCRI) to support the upgradation of radiotherapy services, marking a significant step towards strengthening cancer care infrastructure in Gujarat.
MoA Exchanged in Presence of Senior Officials
The MoA was formally exchanged between Dr. Shashank Pandya, Director, GCRI, and Mr. E. Satya Phani Kumar, Regional Executive Director (West–I), NTPC, in the presence of senior officials from both organisations. The signing ceremony reflected the shared commitment of NTPC and GCRI towards improving access to advanced healthcare services.
₹23.16 Crore CSR Support for Advanced Cancer Care
Under this Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, NTPC has sanctioned ₹23.16 crore for the upgradation of radiotherapy services at the Siddhpur Satellite Centre of GCRI, Ahmedabad. The financial assistance will be utilised for the procurement and installation of a high-energy Linear Accelerator (LINAC), a state-of-the-art radiotherapy system essential for precise and effective cancer treatment.
The installation of the LINAC is expected to significantly enhance advanced cancer treatment capabilities and improve access to quality radiotherapy services for patients, particularly those from underserved regions.
Distinguished Presence at the Signing Ceremony
The signing ceremony was held in the august presence of Mr. Akhaya Kumar Patra, General Manager (OS), Mr. A. P. Samal, CEO (NPUNL) & CGM (Nuclear), and Smt. Vandana Chaturvedi, Regional Head of HR (West–I), along with other senior officials of NTPC WR–I and members of the CSR team. Senior representatives from GCRI were also present on the occasion, underscoring the collaborative spirit of the initiative.
