Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has effected a major reshuffle among senior IAS officers, with several new appointments and reassignments, according to a notification issued by the General Administration and Public Grievance (GA&PG) Department. The reshuffle involves key officers across multiple departments, including Steel & Mines, Revenue & Disaster Management, Women & Child Development, Agriculture, and more.
Key Highlights of the IAS Reshuffle
Deoranjan Kumar Singh, IAS (RR-1983): DC cum-ACS and Secretary to Government, Planning & Convergence Department, will continue in additional charge as Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Steel & Mines Department. His previous additional charge as ACS, Revenue & Disaster Management Department, will end once Arabinda Kumar Padhee, IAS assumes the role.
Surendra Kumar, IAS (RR-1993): Appointed as Additional Chief Secretary to Government, General Administration & Public Grievance Department, while continuing in additional charge of Parliamentary Affairs Department.
Bishnupada Sethi, IAS (RR-1995): Officer on Special Duty, GA&PG, is now Chairman of Odisha Forest Development Corporation, retaining additional charge of Chief Administrator, KBK.
Arabinda Kumar Padhee, IAS (RR-1996): Moves from Agriculture & Farmers Empowerment to become Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Revenue & Disaster Management Department, retaining charge of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration, Puri.
Usha Padhee, IAS (RR-1996): Continues as ACS, Housing & Urban Development, with additional charge as Chairperson of Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation.
Suresh Kumar Vashishth, IAS (RR-1997): Moves to Principal Secretary, Social Security & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Department.
Shubha Sarma, IAS (RR-1999): Appointed as Principal Secretary, Water Resources Department.
NBS Rajput, IAS (RR-1999): Moves to Principal Secretary, Commerce & Transport Department, retaining charge of Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC).
Girish S.N., IAS (RR-2002): Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water, now retains additional charge of Chairman, Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC).
Mrinalini Darswal, IAS (RR-2002): Appointed as Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Women & Child Development Department.
Sachin Ramchandra Jadhav, IAS (RR-2007): Moves from Sports & Youth Services to Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment, retaining Sports & Youth Services charge.
Rashmita Panda, IAS (RR-2010): Appointed as Vice-Chairperson, Bhubaneswar Development Authority, while retaining MD, Bhubaneswar Smart City Ltd., and Special Secretary, Housing & Urban Development.
Sadique Alam, IAS (RR-2010): Appointed as Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Public Enterprises Department, retaining charge of MD, Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT), Bhubaneswar.
Mansi Nimbhal, IAS (RR-2010): Moves to Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Mission Shakti, taking over from Girish S.N.
Prem Chandra Chaudhary, IAS (RR-2010): Appointed as Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Fisheries & Animal Resources Development Department.
Anupam Saha, IAS (RR-2012): Continues as Additional Secretary to CM, with additional charge as MD, Odisha Bridge & Construction Corporation (OBCC) Ltd.
Sangram Keshari Mohapatra, IAS (SCS-2012): Retains additional charge as Revenue Divisional Commissioner (Northern Division), Sambalpur, and Chairman (I/c), Western Odisha Development Council (WODC).
Additional Charges and Terminations
The reshuffle also involved termination of previous additional charges for certain officers to ensure smooth transition:
- The additional charge of Deoranjan Kumar Singh as ACS, Revenue & Disaster Management, ends with Arabinda Kumar Padhee taking over.
- Usha Padhee’s charge as ACS, Commerce & Transport, ends with NBS Rajput assuming the role.
- Girish S.N.’s additional charge as Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Mission Shakti, ends with Mansi Nimbhal taking over.
Multiple other officers had their additional charges terminated to accommodate new appointments.
