Odisha: Major IAS Reshuffle, Satyabrata Sahu Made ACS, Home Department

The government of Odisha has recently carried out a major bureaucratic reshuffle by transferring 18 IAS officers.

The Transferees are:

Mr. Satyabrata Sahu (1991 batch) was recently appointed as Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) to the Home Department with additional charge as ACS, Forest, Environment and Climate Change Department.

Mr. Deoranjan Kumar Singh (1993 batch) has been appointed as ACS Revenue & Disaster Management Department with additional charge of Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) and Managing Director, Odisha State Disaster Management Authority (OSDMA).

Mr. Surendra Kumar (1993 batch) has been appointed as Additional Chief Secretary to the Government, Steel & Mines Department, and was allowed to remain in additional charge of the General Administration and Public Grievance Department, Parliamentary Affairs Department, Chairman of Odisha Mining Corporation Limited (OMC), Odisha Mineral Exploration Corporation Limited and Industrial Development Corporation of Odisha Limited (IDCO), Bhubaneswar.

Mr. Hemant Sharma (1995 batch), the Principal Secretary in the Industries Department, has been allowed to remain in the additional charge of Principal Secretary of the Energy Department, in addition to his additional posting as Chairman of IPICOL and Principal Secretary of the MSME Department.

Mr. Bishnupada Sethi (1995 batch), the incumbent SSEPD Principal Secretary, has been given additional charge of crucial ST & SC Development, Minorities and Backward Classes Welfare Department and Odia Language, Literature and Culture Department.

Ms. Usha Padhee (1996 batch) has been made the new Principal Secretary of the Housing & Urban Development Department with an additional charge of the Commerce & Transport Department.

Mr. Vishal Gagan (1998 batch) has been transferred and posted as Principal Resident Commissioner in New Delhi.

Mr. N B S Rajput (1999 batch), the incumbent Principal Secretary to the Governor, has been allowed to remain in the additional charge of Principal Secretary in the Department of Skill Development and Technical Education.

Ms. Shalini Pandit (2001 batch), last posted as the Health Secretary, has been transferred to the School and Mass Education Department and was allowed to continue in an additional charge of Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the Mission Shakti Department. Ms. Aswathy S (2003 batch) has become the new Secretary of the Health and Family Welfare Department.

IAS Roopa Roshan Sahoo (2006 batch) became the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) of the Southern Division in Berhampur while Mr. Sachin Ramchandra Jadhav (2007 batch) has become the new RDC of the Northern Division in Sambalpur. Mr. B Parameswaran (2008 batch) became the new RDC of the Central Division in Cuttack.

Mr. Balwant Singh (2007 batch) has been appointed the new Tourism Secretary and he has been allowed to retain additional charge of Managing Director, OMC, Managing Director, Odisha Mineral Exploration Corporation Limited, Bhubaneswar and Managing Director, IDCO.

Ms. Yamini Sarangi (2008 batch), the incumbent State Project Director of the Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan with an additional charge of Special Secretary, Finance Department has been allowed to remain in additional charge as Commissioner, Commercial Taxes & GST.

Dr. Noonsavath Thirumala Naik (2009 batch) has been appointed as Vice-Chairman of Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) with an additional charge of Managing Director (MD) of Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited (BSCL) and Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT).

Mr. Samarth Verma (2011 batch) and Ms. Ananya Das (2015 batch) have been appointed as Tourism Director and State Project Director, Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA), respectively. Officer Verma has been allowed to remain in additional charge of managing director of Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC) and Odisha Film Development Corporation (OFDC).
