PESB Selects Surjit Mishra as Director In-Charge of Burnpur & Durgapur Steel Plants

In a key development, Mr. Surjit Mishra has been selected as the new Director In-Charge (DIC) of Burnpur and Durgapur Steel Plants following a meeting of the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB). This marked the first appearance of the two newly appointed members of the PESB, who played a pivotal role in the full-strength board’s decision.

A total of twelve candidates were interviewed by the PESB, after which Mr. Mishra was chosen for the prominent leadership role.

Mr. Surjit Mishra is presently serving as Executive Director (Projects) at the Indian Iron & Steel Company (IISCO). His appointment to the new post is subject to necessary clearances and the approval of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).

Once approved, Mr. Mishra will succeed Mr. Brijendra Pratap Singh, who assumed charge as Chairman and Managing Director of NALCO in the first week of January this year.
