In a significant political and developmental engagement, Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai held separate meetings with Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Mr. Amit Shah to discuss the upcoming Amrit Rajat Mahotsav celebrations, development strategies, and counter-insurgency successes in the state.
CM Sai Invites PM Modi for Statehood Silver Jubilee
On August 1, during a meeting at Parliament House, Mr. Sai officially invited Prime Minister Mr. Modi to be the chief guest at the Amrit Rajat Mahotsav, scheduled for November 1, 2025, in Raipur. The event will mark 25 years of Chhattisgarh’s formation and highlight the state’s transformation into a key developmental hub.
Mr. Sai said that the Prime Minister’s presence at the event would lend national prestige and inspire citizens as the state moves towards its long-term goals aligned with Viksit Bharat.
Developmental Agenda: From Nava Raipur to Vision 2047
During his meeting with Mr. Modi, CM Sai outlined the state’s forward-looking initiatives:
- Anjor Vision @2047: A strategic roadmap for aligning the state’s growth with the national mission of a developed India by 2047. Focus areas include healthcare, education, sustainability, and industrial expansion.
- Jan Vishwas Bill 2025: Modeled after the Centre’s 2023 reforms, the proposed legislation will simplify justice delivery and strengthen governance transparency.
- Nava Raipur Transformation: A new State Capital Region Development Authority has been constituted to develop Nava Raipur into a smart economic zone with futuristic infrastructure.
- Record Investments: The Chief Minister highlighted that the state has attracted Rs. 6.65 lakh crore in investment proposals from 84 companies. This includes India’s first semiconductor manufacturing unit and an AI data centre.
- EduCity and Medicity Projects: To turn Chhattisgarh into a regional knowledge and healthcare powerhouse, two flagship infrastructure projects are being developed.
Meeting with Amit Shah: Focus on Anti-Naxal Operations
On July 31, CM Sai met Union Home Minister Mr. Amit Shah to review the security situation, particularly in Naxal-affected areas such as Bastar.
Highlights of Anti-Naxal Achievements (Dec 2023 – July 2025):
- 445 Maoists neutralised in 33 major operations.
- 1,554 arrests and 1,588 voluntary surrenders under the state’s rehabilitation policy.
- Launch of the Integrated Development & Security Policy, which combines road and school construction with health and governance access in red zone areas.
Mr. Shah lauded Chhattisgarh’s achievements as “historic” and assured continued central support for both developmental and security operations, especially in sensitive regions.
Preparations for Amrit Rajat Mahotsav
Both leaders were briefed on the preparations for the Amrit Rajat Mahotsav, which will reflect Chhattisgarh’s journey over the past 25 years. Key elements of the celebration will include:
- Showcasing tribal heritage and culture.
- Presenting economic milestones, including industrial growth and infrastructure upgrades.
- Exhibiting law and order successes, especially in former insurgency-hit districts.
