New Delhi: Punjab National Bank (PNB) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Assam to facilitate convenient and affordable housing and vehicle finance for eligible state government employees and employees of state public sector undertakings (PSUs). The agreement has been signed under the Assam government’s ‘Apon Ghar’ and ‘Apun Bahan’ schemes.
The partnership aims to improve access to credit for eligible employees, helping them meet their housing and vehicle financing requirements. The initiative reflects the commitment of PNB and the Assam government to supporting the financial well-being of government employees through accessible banking and lending services.
PNB Signs MoU with Assam Government Under Apon Ghar and Apun Bahan Schemes
The MoU establishes a partnership between Punjab National Bank and the Government of Assam to facilitate housing and vehicle loans for eligible state government and state PSU employees.
Under the agreement, the bank will support access to financing through the two schemes:
- Apon Ghar Scheme: Supports eligible employees in meeting their housing finance requirements.
- Apun Bahan Scheme: Supports eligible employees in meeting their vehicle financing requirements.
The partnership is intended to make credit more convenient and affordable for eligible beneficiaries, helping them address important financial needs related to homeownership and vehicle purchases.

- Mr. Syed Isfaqur Rahman: Secretary to the Government of Assam, Finance Department, representing the Assam government.
