New Delhi: The Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a Maharatna CPSU operating under the Ministry of Power, has successfully brought the 765 kV double-circuit Khetri–Narela transmission line into operation. This achievement marks a key development in enhancing the power transmission infrastructure across North India.
Enhancing Grid Reliability and Renewable Integration
The newly commissioned transmission line is expected to significantly improve the reliability of the power grid in Delhi, the National Capital Region (NCR), Rajasthan, and surrounding areas. By facilitating efficient long-distance bulk power transfer, it also supports the integration and evacuation of renewable energy from states abundant in resources, reinforcing India’s transition towards sustainable energy.

POWERGRID highlighted that the completion of this project was made possible through the dedication and perseverance of its project teams, who navigated challenging landscapes and adverse weather conditions. The company emphasized that the successful commissioning reflects its organizational motto, “No Terrain Too Tough, No Season Too Rough,” demonstrating a commitment to executing complex engineering projects on schedule.
