New Delhi: In a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, the Government of India has approved the appointments of senior officers to key positions in two prominent national organizations under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Preeti Maithil Appointed Deputy General Manager, TRIFED
Preeti Maithil, a 2009-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as Deputy General Manager (at Director level) of the Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED), Bhopal. Her appointment is on a deputation basis for a period of five years from the date of assuming charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The competent authority has directed that Maithil be relieved of her current responsibilities immediately to take up her new assignment. TRIFED, a national-level cooperative under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, plays a vital role in empowering tribal communities through the promotion and marketing of tribal products, supporting sustainable livelihoods and socio-economic development.
Mashhood Ur Rehman Farooqui Appointed Director, National Health Authority
In another development, Mashhood Ur Rehman Farooqui, a 2009-batch Indian Revenue Service (IRS-Customs & Indirect Taxes) officer, has been appointed as Director in the National Health Authority (NHA) under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). The appointment, made under the Central Staffing Scheme, was approved by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on October 8, 2025.
Farooqui’s tenure will be co-terminus with the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission and may be extended as per the admissible tenure under the scheme or until further orders. He has been directed to assume his new role immediately, with a three-week window to join, as per Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) guidelines. Failure to do so may result in debarment from the Central Staffing Scheme.
The Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, spearheaded by the NHA, seeks to build a comprehensive digital health ecosystem in India by linking healthcare providers and recipients through digital health IDs and interoperable digital health records.
These appointments reflect the government’s continued emphasis on strengthening key administrative frameworks to enhance service delivery in tribal welfare and digital healthcare sectors.
