New Delhi: The Indian government on Tuesday approved the premature repatriation of two senior officers—Vaibhav Chandrakant Ghalme (ICAS:2011) and Ramesh Kumar Verma (ITradeS:2013)—sending them back to their parent cadres on personal grounds, with extended cooling-off provisions.
Premature Repatriation of Vaibhav C. Ghalme Returned to Parent Cadre from Health Ministry
Ghalme, serving as Director, Department of Health & Family Welfare, has been relieved of his central deputation ahead of schedule.
A DoPT order stated that the competent authority had accepted the Health Ministry’s proposal to repatriate him on personal grounds.
Ghalme joined the role in April 2025. His posting order had approved a five-year central deputation tenure beginning March 25, 2025. The latest order brings his assignment to an early close.
Premature Repatriation of Ramesh Kumar Verma from DPIIT
Ramesh Kumar Verma, Deputy Secretary in the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), has also been prematurely repatriated.
Verma was appointed on central deputation via order dated July 19, 2023. His initial tenure was up to March 31, 2025, later extended to be co-terminus with PM GatiShakti National Master Plan (PMGS-NMP). His repatriation order ends his central posting earlier than the extended tenure.
Both officers will now report back to their respective parent cadres with the mandatory extended cooling-off period.
