Partners in India’s ‘Viksit Bharat’ Vision
President Murmu described IRS officers as key contributors to India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation, often referred to as the vision of “Viksit Bharat.”
She said officers in the service are regularly required to make important decisions that must be fair, efficient and informed by a deep understanding of business and economic activities.

The President also shared advice for the trainee officers as they begin their careers in public service.
She urged them to:
• Exercise their authority with responsibility and restraint
• Maintain integrity and fairness in decision-making
• Balance enforcement with facilitation
• Uphold constitutional values in public service
According to her, a successful civil servant is one who combines authority with humility and efficiency with empathy.
