Priya Ranjan, a 1998 batch Indian Forest Service officer from the Rajasthan cadre and currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, will continue to hold the additional charge of Managing Director of the National Horticulture Board for another six months. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the extension following a proposal from the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, according to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training on Friday, January 10, 2025. The extension will be effective from September 23, 2024, and will remain in force until a regular Managing Director is appointed, further orders are issued, or the six-month period ends, whichever comes first.
Ranjan has been handling the additional responsibilities of Managing Director at the National Horticulture Board since March 2023, with periodic extensions granted to ensure continuity in the role.
