The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of M G Balasubrahmanya, Executive Director at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), as the new Director (Human Resources) of the company. The appointment was made following a proposal from the Department of Defence Production under the Ministry of Defence.

Established in 1940, the company operates 11 R&D centres and 21 manufacturing divisions across India, and plays a key role in the country’s defence ecosystem.
The Maharatna PSU is engaged in the design and production of fighter jets, helicopters, jet engines, marine gas turbines, avionics, and other military hardware. HAL is also responsible for overhauling and upgrading various aircraft used by the Indian armed forces.
