DARPG’s 5th National e-Governance Webinar witnessed participation from 418 and 315 officials nationwide, including Principal Secretaries, AR Secretaries, IT Secretaries, public administrators, and institutes from various sectors, reflecting a collective commitment towards digital transformation
In order to promote greater learning, dissemination, and replication, the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG) hosted the National e-Governance Webinars (NeGW 2023–24), where public administrators can showcase their initiatives that have won the esteemed National Award for Excellence in e-Governance. The 4th and 5th NeGW editions were successfully held by the Department on January 5, 2024, and February 16, 2024, respectively, to highlight these nationally recognized initiatives and encourage knowledge exchange among interested parties.
The 4th National e-Governance Webinar’s theme was “Excellence in District Level Initiative in e-Governance for Other States.”
Ms. Rukmani Riar Sihag, the District Collector of Hanumangarh, Rajasthan, introduced the Gang Canal Computerization Project, which intended to help farmers in the Ganganagar district by giving them access to real-time data regarding the condition of the entire network of canals that make up the Gang Canal Irrigation System. The project covered an irrigated land area of 3.14 lakh hectares and is intended to connect every farmer across 1222 villages and 7 blocks, improving accessibility and efficiency in agricultural practices.
Presenting MINE MITRA, a citizen-centric e-service for different mining stakeholders, Mr. Amit Kaushik, Joint Director of the Directorate of Geology & Mining, Government of Uttar Pradesh, showcases features that make it easier to digitally review and process licenses, permits, and leases, along with real-time monitoring through the use of AI and IoT technology, MINE MITRA effectively reduces processing time, improves user convenience, and fights illegal mining.
Ms. Annapurna K., Additional Secretary, 5th State Finance Commission, Government of Karnataka, introduced Kutumba, an entitlement management system that functions as a centralized database system with distinct Family IDs. By identifying and removing ineligible beneficiaries, this initiative seeks to enable proactive and inclusive welfare service delivery, preventing revenue leakage and guaranteeing effective resource allocation.
