New Delhi: In a key step towards strengthening global partnerships in workforce development, the Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) held a high-level strategic meeting with the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the International Organisation of Employers (IOE) in New Delhi.
The talks were led by Mr. K. P. Mahadevaswamy, Chairman of SCOPE and CMD of NBCC, alongside Mr. Atul Sobti, Director General of SCOPE. They engaged in meaningful dialogue with Mr. Roberto Suárez Santos, Secretary General of IOE (Geneva); Ms. Michiko Miyamoto, Director, ILO South Asia; and Mr. Ravindra Peiris, Senior Specialist, ILO, in the presence of senior officials from both ILO and SCOPE.
Focus on Future-Ready Skills and Ethical Practices
The deliberations centred around enhancing the capacity of Indian employers through micro-credentials and strategic skill-building. Both organisations reaffirmed the need to prepare employers for a ‘just transition’—a shift towards environmentally sustainable practices while maintaining fair labour outcomes.
The meeting also emphasised raising awareness on responsible business conduct across Indian enterprises, particularly in the public sector. IOE and ILO expressed full cooperation and pledged continued engagement with SCOPE to support these shared objectives.
