In a recent development, Mr. Amitesh Kumar (1995 batch IPS officer), the incumbent Commissioner of Police of Pune City, has implemented internal transfers within the Deputy Commissioner of Police positions. IPS Nikhil Pingale (2014 batch) has been appointed the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) for Pune City’s Police Commissionerate’s Crime Branch. Meanwhile, DCP Amol Zende from the Crime Branch has been transferred to the Traffic Branch. Officer Nikhil Pingale was previously posted as the Superintendent of Police (SP) in Gadchire and was recently transferred to Pune District, he is now in charge of the Crime Branch at the Pune City Police Commissionerate.
