Mansa, Punjab: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today visited the town of Jhuneer in Mansa district, where he laid the foundation stone of a new government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in the village of Fatehgarh Sahnewali. The project, costing ₹24.5 crore, aims to provide vocational training and technical education to youths of Jhuneer and surrounding villages.
5-Acre Land Donated by Fatehgarh Sahnewali Panchayat
The Chief Minister thanked the local panchayat for generously donating five acres of land for this initiative. The new ITI will have a capacity of 240 students and will offer training in five key trades, including:
- Electrician
- Electric Vehicle Mechanic
- Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Technician
- Industrial Robotics & Digital Manufacturing Technician
- CNC Machining Technician
CM Mann emphasized that this ITI will empower local youth with skills near their homes, ensuring better employment opportunities and skill development.

CM Mann Criticizes Previous Governments
Addressing a large crowd in Jhuneer, CM Mann criticized the decades-long rule of the Akali Dal and Congress, claiming they deliberately neglected Punjab’s children while favoring their own families and relatives. He stated that his government prioritizes the welfare of the people, spending public funds transparently for development projects.
He also criticized the BJP for relying on party-switchers to fulfill electoral ambitions, asserting that Punjab has chosen a different, progressive path under the AAP government.
Development Projects in Sarai Dulgarh Constituency
CM Mann also announced several infrastructure projects in the Sarai Dulgarh area:
- Two new bridges over the Ghaggar River worth ₹17.31 crore to reduce travel distance for 27 villages.
- Steel bridge in Barn village costing ₹5.28 crore.
- Health & Wellness Clinic in Bhagwanpur Hinga at ₹55 lakh.
- Block Public Health Unit in Sarai Dulgarh at ₹49 lakh, including lab and conference facilities.
- Upgradation of Sarai Dulgarh Government Hospital to a 100-bed facility.
- Sewerage pipeline project spanning 24.8 km at ₹14.76 crore.
- Electricity grid upgrades in several villages, improving supply during peak farming seasons.
These initiatives aim to enhance healthcare, transport, and utility infrastructure while benefiting farmers and local residents.
Focus on Education, Health, and Youth Employment
CM Mann highlighted the government’s commitment to education, including:
- Establishment of 118 Schools of Eminence.
- Teacher training programs in Finland and Singapore.
- Providing skill-based education through ITIs and vocational centers.
He also emphasized healthcare reforms:
- 881 “Aam Aadmi Clinics” across Punjab.
- Launch of Chief Minister Sehat Yojana, providing cashless medical treatment up to ₹10 lakh per family.
- Free electricity for over 90% of households, including daytime supply for farmers.
The government has also initiated the “Meri Rasoi Yojana”, distributing quarterly food kits to 40 lakh families, ensuring nutrition and food security.
Senior Leaders Present at the Event
The foundation stone ceremony was attended by senior AAP leaders including Manish Sisodia, Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains, and Gurmeet Singh Khuddian. CM Mann reiterated that these projects reflect the government’s vision to eliminate regional backwardness and empower Punjab’s youth with modern skills.
